Wow, over 3 years as a Deviator and I've finally broken through the 2000 pageview barrier. To see that my work has been viewed over 4000 times is a shock, seriously.

My most popular image is a contrast altered shot of stencil art under a bridge ( [link] ). My designs get the occasional look, but whilst being the stuff some close friends like the most, they don't get as much attention as photos I took randomly and edited in few short minutes each time, ha!

Once upon a time, I would upload countless deviations in a short amount of time, then later on cull them down to a reasonable assortment.

The evolution of what has been put up thus far is apparent, though there has been little to no real progression for the past year in either photography or 'designs'. The last time a design posted was exactly one year ago. For this reason, I am uploading one design today. It is nothing particularly new or different, just something to add.

I think I've focused on writing over the past year or so far more than I have on any visual work. The written word should fear my shoddyness.

Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..... *coughing fit* ahahahahahaha.......

I may make submission into student category of the IDAA (International Digital Art Awards) this year - got enough of an ego boost to do it after gettings two High Distiinctions and a Distinction for my first three Photomedia submissions.

Righteo then people, where do I start?

Firstly, the recent deviations - where do they come from?

---> These deviations are result of me trying to experiment with idea for my 'Photomedia and Artisitc Practice' unit at uni. Testing ideas of Pictorialism, still life, abstraction and all the like.

Hopefully after this semester my folio will finally look half way decent

Now as to writing --> lecturer at uni took a look at two stories I wrote since the middle of last year. He had plenty of good things to say about both, even going as far as saying one was ground work on a decent novel... me a novelist? um...

Ok, I haven't put up many deviations for a fair while now. I believe part of that has been a change of focus for me. These days I'm writing more than I'm desiging or drawing (yes I do know that deviant supports writing as well).

With this in mind, I've gone as far as changing part of my university degree - previously I was doing

Major - Creative Industries Interdisciplinary
Sub majors - Journalism and Advertising
Minor - Art and Visual Culture

now it is...

It may not look like much of a change, but now more than half of my overall degree is writing based. I am still doing one more visually oriented unit in the coming years - Photomedia and Artistic Practice... so you may actually get a lot more photography based deviations during the next year. But other than that, writing wise best place to go to at this point in time is [link] its a website made for an university unit and it displays a range of academic, journalistic and creative writing alongside some familiar deviations and some previously unseen designs and photos.
